Curriculum Highlights
Math-This week we will begin Topic 9. This topic is called Comparing Two-Digit Numbers. Our lessons this week will focus on the following skills: identifying numbers that are 1 more, 1 less, 10 more, and 10 less, making numbers on a hundred chart, and comparing numbers using the symbols <, >, and =.
Social Studies-We will finish up our study of American Symbols with a trip to the D-Lab in the next week!
Faith In First
This week we find our way into the Season of Lent just before Easter in the Catholic Church. Lent is a time for children to reflect on their own lives and the world around them. Wednesday the children will receive ashes at our service....a reminder that God loves them very much and died on the cross for us.
This Sunday is the 1st Sunday of Lent and the children will be able to reflect on the loving choices they make. This is something that the children can work on throughout Lent.
Looking ahead.....2nd Sunday of Lent, Matthew 17:1-9. What does it mean to have faith? Keeping our eyes on Jesus!
