Students Invited to Apply for a City of Milton Internship
The paid program will expose interns to all aspects of City government.
The City of Milton invites students to apply to become summer interns as part of a new, paid program offering a far-reaching look at the city government.
The Comprehensive Internship Program was conceived last summer with help from Milton native Audrey Shannon, who was a summer intern with the City. The new program will expose interns to every aspect of Milton's government; in turn, those same interns will work for the City-based on both their interests, skills, and expertise as well as individual departments' needs.
The interns' duties might include conducting research, acting as a liaison for the City, creating public presentations, assisting with City events or programs, and administrative work.
"The Comprehensive Internship Program is a win-win for everyone," said Milton's Community Engagement Manager Courtney Spriggs, whose department oversees the initiative. "Interns get a valuable education and experience, while the City gets valuable help from them."
The program will last ten weeks, and interns s to work 15-20 hours per week.
Interns must be 18 years or older and either in college or a recent high school graduate. They are expected to have work or volunteer experience and be proficient in Microsoft Office.
To apply, go to cityofmiltonga.us/careers/internship. Applications are currently open and are due by March 9. Interns begin work in early June.
If you have questions, you can contact Courtney Spriggs at courtney.spriggs@cityofmiltonga.us or 678-242-2533.
