BARBER BULLETIN
Week of April 22-26 Creating Joyful Leaders and Learners
Our Lighthouse Visit is TUESDAY!
As I have reflected this week on our readiness, I can't help but be humbled and proud at the student leadership opportunities that we have created in the last two years. Students have taken ownership of so many areas of our building. I listened to our Student Lighthouse Team on Friday during Club Day as they shared their preparations for our visit and I was reminded of just how many opportunities they have to lead that they wouldn't otherwise have been given. Further, the gift of helping a child find their voice through Covey Clubs or behind the scenes of the news show or on stage is priceless when I think about the future careers of these children! I also applaud the common language all of you have helped create in our building. My three year old was watching Snow White recently and recognized the dwarfs were synergizing! It's amazing to me that students from age 3 to eleven years old can identify the habits and use them in the context of their own world. So when you ask, "Are you sure we are ready?" Absolutely, we are! I'm so proud of all of you and the work you do each day to create joyful leaders and learners! Tuesday is our day to show off what you and I have known for so long - Pontiac is a special place to be!
Just as a reminder, here's the agenda of the evaluators' day on TUESDAY:

Collaboration Time in the BrainForest for Reviewers: 1:45pm-2:00pm

Before they depart for the day, we will encourage them to watch our News Show in the BrainForest that begins at 2:30pm, broadcast by our student leaders each afternoon.
So, how might you use Monday afternoon to prepare?
1) Does your classroom reflect the necessary items for a Leader in Me classroom?
2) Are your hallway displays updated with current student work?
3) Please remind your classroom greeters to warmly welcome visitors to your classroom.
The Sharing Table.......a friendly reminder!
PARROT REPORTERS are looking for action!
Mrs. Bookman has 4 wonderful student leaders that make up our Parrot Reporters. They are looking for news to report! If your students or grade level are doing something interesting that you would like to share please let Mrs. Bookman know. She will send a team of 2 to your classroom to take a video clip of the action, ask a few questions to generate interest/get information, and after editing our video Ms. Turner will share a clip of it on the news show. We can email the full video clips that we create for your class viewing.
Put these Parrot Reporters to work! They are ready to report on the great things happening on your grade levels and in your classrooms!
