10/26 Home and School

We’ve had a very busy week at Young Elementary School.

  • The Young Spirit Squad cheered on Young staff and parents at the Naperville Half Marathon and 5K. We had a great time encouraging all of the runners who participated in the race. Thank you to our families and staff members who were a part of the Spirit Squad. Young's Spirit Squad won fifth place in the School Spirit Squad Contest.

  • We celebrated Red Ribbon Week and focused on making healthy life choices.

  • The fire department visited first grade to talk about fire safety.

  • A Naperville police officer from the On Your Own Program visited 3rd grade students and spoke about how students can keep themselves safe using self-care skills when home alone.

  • 5th grade students had the opportunity to interact with Granger Middle School band and orchestra teachers to learn about band and orchestra opportunities in 6th grade.

  • Author, Ruth Spiro visited with kindergarten through second grade students and spoke about the importance of reading and writing.
