Student Population Growth for 2019-2020
With our growing school population, we will be adding 4 large portable buildings to our campus for next school year. Due to the class size requirement at the state level and fire code, we will have all of third grade and half of fourth grade in the portables. We have the following safety measures in effect:
If visiting the portables, please come to the front office to obtain a visitor’s sticker before entering the portables.
Portables will be locked at all times.
If you arrive after 7:45, please drop your student off in the front office.
Teachers will escort students, or students will walk with a buddy to and from the building.
Students attending SRP classes, Dyslexia classes, Special Education classes, QUEST classes, or any other class during the day will be met at the door by their teacher or walk with a buddy.
Inclement weather plans are in place and will be practiced throughout the year.
Thank you for helping in our efforts to ensure a safe and secure learning environment here at Parkside Elementary.
Have a great weekend!
Lauren, Maggie, and Marianne

A Message from the Nurse
Dear Parents/Guardians:
All medication and diabetic supplies that have been left in the clinic for your student, need to be picked up no later than May 30 ,2019. Only students who have permission to self-carry their emergency medications, will be allowed to bring their medication home. All other students will not be able to pick up medications under any circumstances. They must be picked up by a parent or guardian. The district does not allow medication to be stored in the clinic over the summer so all medications not picked up by May 31, 2019 will be disposed of properly. Thank you for your attention to this matter.
Have a great summer,
Nurse Caitlin

Field Day Volunteers are Needed!
Field Day is almost here and we need your help to make the day a success. We need volunteers to help with station activities, snacks and inflatables. Most of the volunteer opportunities will allow you to be with your student while helping at Field Day. These volunteers will follow a class through 14 stations and help start, stop and keep kids safe. A description of all activities will be given out to volunteers before the event. If you can help any way please sign up at the following link on the PTA website. Thanks for your help and support of the PE program.

Adopt the Garden!
You're Needed!
We need help watering the Parkside Garden this summer. We are asking for families to volunteer for one week of garden care. Your week begins on Monday!
What does helping with the garden require?
- Please water at least 3 times over the course of your week. (Ideally 2 times during the week and once on the weekend.)
- Water the raised garden beds and sensory garden.
- Give the trees, bushes and plants around the garden a good soaking.
- Watering before 10am or after 6pm is best.
- Weed if you like!
**You are welcome to any produce that is ready for picking during your watering week!**
Contact Stacie Cary if you need help figuring out the water/key system! stacie@staciecary.com.
Thank you for your help - Garden club will start up next school year!
