Cinco de Mayo is a holiday that recognizes the victory of the Mexican army over the French army on May 5th, 1862. Cinco de Mayo is still celebrated because it symbolizes unity and pride. The state of Puebla still celebrates Cinco de Mayo. The types of activities that occur during Cinco de Mayo include large parades, reenactment of the Mexican's victory.
