Jackie As A Star
Jackie was one of the best players in the MLB. Jackie had to deal with the racial comments from the fans and from some of his teammates. Jackie was just a inspiration to all African-Americans.
As a Young One
Jackie was born on January 31, 1919. When Jackie was young he had a great passion for sports, whether it was baseball, football, or track and field. He was a calm man, but in one incident on a segregated bus the driver told him to move to the back of the bus, but he refused. Later, he was arrested for that incident.
Jackie's Main Career
Jackie was drafted into the MLB in 1945, but was sent to the Dodgers farm team, the Montreal Royals. On April 15, 1947, Jackie became the first African-American baseball player to ever play in the big leagues. He had an amazing career with the Dodgers, but was traded to the Giants(New York) in his eighth season.He played with the Giants for two more seasons, but then retired.

As Jackie Robinson retired he became famous, he was on talk shows and more. One day he got very sick and was diagnosed with type two diabetes. A couple days later he died. The day was October 24, 1972. He was 53 years old. That's when his wife and three children started the Jackie Robinson Foundation, or known as JRF. JRF is still going on today.

As Jackie grew up to be well known, he faced tough times on the field, mostly with racial things. If Jackie hadn't come along the world might not have African-American players in baseball and in other sports. He was one of the most famous people in American history. He was a great person."
