Class sizes, programs tied to levy outcome
If approved on Election Day, the District’ levy request will generate more reliable funding to provide stable class sizes and comprehensive programs for students – for the next 10 years.
If voters reject the levy, schools will lose $7 million a year.
Starting next fall . . .
Class sizes would rise, and staff will be cut. Fewer courses will be offered, and services to support students will be reduced.
Programs will be cut, and fees will rise. Many academic and co-curricular opportunities will no longer be offered. Those that remain will require a significantly higher fee to participate. This impacts band, orchestra, choir, athletics, arts and clubs.
Transportation services will be reduced, and fees will be increased.
Visit www.moundsviewschools.org/doneforadecade to learn more. Early voting begins Tuesday, October 29, at the Shoreview library.

Extra Clothes at School
If your child has had an accident and came home with clothes that belong to the school, please wash them and return them to school as soon as possible. We use them frequently and are currently out of pants in our commonly used sizes.
Also, if you would like to donate any of these items, feel free to send them to school with your child. We need a variety of sizes for both boys and girls. Pants with an elastic waist work best for our students.

Snackpack Program
The Snackpack program is supported by community donations and volunteers. It is designed to provide non-perishable food items every Friday to children that would benefit from supplemental nourishment over the weekend. Snackpacks consist of 8-10 mini meals and snack items that are child friendly, non-perishable and easily consumed. Bags are dispensed in a discreet and caring manner by school staff each week. This program runs the full school year and there is no cost to participate.
If you wish for your child(ren) to participate in the program please contact Barb Schochenmaier at Pike Lake at 651-621-7438 to request a permission form. If your children attend more than one school, you can include them all on one permission form.

Sincerely,
Lisa Baker
