Welcome to the 2022-23 School Year
Welcome Back!
Dear Granger ISD Parents, Guardians and Students,
I want to take this time to welcome you back for the 2022-2023 school year! I feel honored with the humbling responsibility to lead the Granger Lions, a district with strong traditions and a rich history of success.
We love the familiar feeling of our small rural community. Our goal is continued progress towards being one of the elite small school districts in the state. Our students will be the most important part of achieving that goal for us all, and we will pour ourselves into fueling their future. With the drastic increase in enrollment over the last few years, we know more families are ready to be a part of the small school community life! We have added at least 122 kids since I began in Granger.
We will continue to grow and raise the bar in every aspect of our schools. Progress is continuous and we will focus strongly on challenging all students to go beyond any perceived limit in all areas of student life.
With many new faces, staff and students alike, we will grow together this year!
Just a few things that we have done to improve security....
After the tornado that came through Granger, we had the opportunity to debrief with county and city officials, so we have already been proactive in our response to emergencies.
We have updated Fire Alarm Systems
We have added speed bumps
We have added telephone lines to each classroom in the elementary and high school buildings to communicate with both parents and 911 in the event of an emergency
We have completed Exterior Door Safety Audits
We coordinated with the county held our Active Shooter Training with our staff.
In the next few days, I will share some highlights from last year that we look to expand upon, and then I will share some updates on where we are with our bond projects.
Parents and Guardians, we encourage you to be a part of your Lion’s experience here. If you or your students need me, please do not hesitate to reach out. Can’t wait to see you Wednesday!
Looking forward to a year with:
Greatness, Growth, Discipline, & Love

Friendly Reminder
Friendly reminder all 7th graders must have completed immunizations prior to the first day of school (Tdap, Meningococcal and Varicella, only if they haven’t received their 2nd dose). If your 7th grader has not done so, please do so immediately.
Elementary Coaches Corner
As we begin the school year, please keep in mind that your child(ren) has P.E. class every day. Your child(ren) should be wearing tennis shoes with tieable laces or Velcro straps to help prevent accidents. If your child(ren) can not tie their shoes independently, please practice this important skill at home. Slip on shoes are convenient, but pose a major risk of injury. We will be practicing classroom rules and procedures, while learning how to safely move around the gym for the first few weeks.
