Year 7 & Year 8 Weekly Update
18th May 2023
A message from Mrs Rinaldi
Dear parents,
It has been an exciting week preparing for and then completing Charity Day yesterday. The week began with the pupils industriously preparing their stalls. Year 7 were busy making slime, creating crochet items and planning sports events in the MPH. Year 8 were making bracelets and designing a football tournament for the courts. Some students also had the chance to visit classes in the younger year groups to speak to them about the Qatar Red Crescent and how our donations will support their work.
Yesterday, during the event itself, the students did themselves incredibly proud. Their stalls were organised, they supported the younger students in an amazing way and then they enjoyed looking around the stalls themselves in their final slot. It was incredible to witness how mature and responsible the students were and they took their roles extremely seriously. Overall, the school raised over 32,000 QR for the Qatar Red Crescent, with the Year 7 and 8 students raising around 5,000 QR of this themselves.
The students are now turning their focus to the assessment fortnight next week. As in Term 1, the students will not be set any homework during the fortnight. We look forward to the students putting into practice the wonderful work that they have done over the past three terms.
Kind regards
Mrs Rinaldi
