Middleton Carnival
You will need a Fun Card (horseshoe punch card) to play all carnival games. Each game/activity will take between 1- 8 horseshoe punches to play. To avoid long lines at the event, PAC will be pre-selling the Horseshoe Punch Cards before and after school on Wednesday, Thursday and Friday. The cost of one card with 20 horseshoes will be $5. You can pay cash, Venmo or PayPal. Food vendors are not included with the fun cards. You may also purchase raffle tickets at this time.
We are still in need of volunteers. Please consider signing up to help make our carnival a fun event for our kiddos. Click the sign-up link to see how you can help.
Thank You Middleton Volunteers!

2023 Middleton Parent Survey
Middleton 23-24 Class Placement Parent Input
As the end of the year approaches, we are starting to look ahead to next school year. The Middleton staff realizes that parents provide valuable information regarding their child’s placement. While we do not take requests for specific teachers, parent input will be carefully considered in the formation of classes for the 2023-2024 school year. Our class placement process is a collaborative one and our Placement Team takes into account a number of factors when forming classes: personalities, academic levels, learning styles, learning needs, and student compatibility. We look at each student as an individual and as a member of a diverse class. This information will be given careful consideration. Every effort will be made to provide the most appropriate educational setting for your child and to establish well-balanced classrooms. Please keep in mind that parent placement input is not a teacher request form. Any form turned in with a specific teacher’s name request will not be considered.
Please complete this survey no later than 5 pm on Sunday, May 14th, 2023.
Site Council Volunteer Opportunity
Mileage Club
We are excited to offer Mileage Club to our students this year! Mileage Club is a running/walking club that will take place during lunch recess on Tuesdays and Thursdays (weather permitting) during the month of May. Students are given the optional opportunity to participate by running or walking laps and are able to win fun toe tokens based on how many laps they run.
WE NEED VOLUNTEERS!!! Volunteering for Mileage Club is fun and easy. Volunteers will either be hole punching student's run cards when they finish each lap or standing along the course to ensure student's safety. You are welcome to bring younger siblings with you for this as well. Sign up here for as many or few dates as you are available!
Changes to COVID Requirements in K-12 Settings
This week the Oregon Department of Education and OHA announced major updates to the current COVID-19 policies for K-12. First, effective now, a five-day period of isolation for those infected with COVID-19 will no longer be required in K-12 settings. Students with positive COVID cases will now fall under similar “when to stay home” guidance as other illnesses, which is that your ill child can return to school when they have been fever-free for 24 hours and shown overall symptom improvement. Families with sick children are encouraged to contact the school office with any questions about illness and absences.
The other major change is that effective June 17, the vaccine requirement for school staff and volunteers will be lifted. We will be opening volunteer registration for the 2023-24 school year starting July 1 -- watch for an upcoming email from our district with more information on the volunteer background check and clearance process for next year.
Please note that all volunteers in schools between now and the end of the current school year are still under the vaccine requirement through June 16. Volunteer background checks for the current 2022-23 school year will close on June 5, 2023, so any parents/guardians planning to volunteer for end-of-the-year school events must complete the volunteer form by that date. For volunteer forms, please visit our website at https://sherwood.k12.or.us/resources/volunteer-opportunities/
