Student & Family Update
9/24/2021
Dear Students and Families,
Thank you to everyone who joined us for Open House last night, it was great to see everyone here with the backdrop of a varsity volleyball win!!
I wanted to provide an update with you on my timeline for transitioning to my new role in Pittsfield. As Superintendent Stanton shared last week, the position has been advertised and a search committee is being formed. I will remain at MTRS through the beginning of November, however, should a finalist be selected that can begin prior to November, I will transition sooner. Please keep an eye on Superintendent Stanton’s updates for information regarding the search process.

7th and 8th Grade Math Intervention
Hello! My name is Laura Rubinaccio. I am the Math Interventionist and the Mohawk Trail Regional School System Title 1 teacher for both 7th grade and 8th grade students. I also co-teach 8th grade math, three days a week, with Ms. Gearty. I have been a math teacher for 11 years, and I have taught a range of courses from Pre-Algebra to Precalculus. I am excited to be here at MTRS and to be able to work with 7th and 8th grade students.
I wanted to introduce myself and this new program here at MTRS. In this program, students will have the opportunity to extend their conceptual understanding, efficiency, and fluency with key mathematical concepts. My role as Math Interventionist is to provide targeted instruction to students who may need additional support. Please click on the links below for more information about the Title 1 Math Intervention program. This includes the Title 1 Information Letter and School-Family Compact.
I would like to invite you to the October LEC meeting where we will have an opportunity to talk more about math! I will present additional information about this program there as well. Please come join the conversation!
Student Services

Message from the Nurse's Office
Please see this document on when to stay home from school. With the concerns surrounding the Delta variant, it remains important to do the daily screening prior to coming to school every day and staying home if you’re sick. Over the next few days, the district nurses will be updating the COVID-19 section of our family guidance handbook and sharing it with you all.
Also, just another friendly reminder to please complete and send in the annual health form in order for your child to be treated in the health office. If your child has a medication, inhaler, or epipen, the health office will also need a completed medication form from their PCP office. If you are exempting your child from any vaccines, please send in a signed note with the appropriate information.
Currently, there is an issue with a few faxes in the building so please use the front office (413) 625-6652 to send over any necessary paperwork. You can also take a picture or scan and send the paperwork directly to me at this email: Larissa Harrison, lharrison@mtrsd.org
