Protecting yourself and your digital footprint
Sending photographs via MMS and uploading them to social networking sites has become a routine part of our lives but it is essential that you THINK BEFORE YOU POST.
Advice for staying safe when sending photos can be found below:
- The safest way is to not take such photos - or allow them to be taken.
- Resist pressure to be photographed in an inappropriate state
- Do not send inappropriate photos to boyfriends \ girlfriends – (you may break up next week!)
- Increase the Privacy on your mobile phone - Ensure your phone is password protected, so no one can see your photos
- If your phone is sold or goes for servicing ensure that all photos are deleted
- Do not upload photos to any sites
- Do not allow people to tag you in photos without your approval
- Report photos that have been uploaded of you that are inappropriate
