JK SCIENCE
5 SENSES
JK is learning about the 5 sensses
Dear JK Parents,
JK Super Stars continue to be active and engaged in the science room. Recently, they’ve been learning about the 5 senses. They played sound bingo, tried to match similar noises and read a book complete with special sound effects. They taste tested different items and tried to see if it made a difference if their noses were plugged or not. They realized the tongue tastes: sweet, salty, bitter, sour and spicy foods. They looked around the school at different light sources using their rainbow viewers. The children tried to pick up pompoms using tweezers using their sense of sight and then later when they were blindfolded which proved to be a little trickier.
JK students also learned about weather; made tornado tubes, clouds in jars and learned about anemometers (tools used to determine wind speed).
Enjoy your break!
Carpe Diem!
