OLVCS Updates
March 3, 2023
Dear Families and Friends of Our Lady of Victory Catholic School,
I hope that the ice and snow this evening will not delay the beginning of a well-earned break for everyone. Before you reach your Spring Break destination, I hope you’ll check out the important items in our newsletter this week. I have a few of those here...
Registration: Just a reminder that enrollment for the 2023-2024 school year is open. Please visit School Admin to get started on the process and visit Simple Tuition Solutions to get the financial aid information you need. Please make sure your FACTS accounts are up-to-date, also. Middle School Information Night: If you have a student who is entering 6th grade next year, and you would like to find out more about our middle school program, you are invited to an information night on March 21 from 6:30-7:30pm. There is no pre-registration for this event. A brief presentation from our teachers will take place in our school cafeteria, and the opportunity for a self-guided tour through the middle school wing will follow. If you have friends or neighbors with future middle schoolers not yet part of our school community, please extend the invitation to them.
May God bless you with every heavenly blessing and give you a safe journey; wherever life leads you, may you may find him there to protect you. Enjoy the break everyone and safe travels if you are getting away!
In Christ,
Jim Hoy

SJCA Boys Basketball Place 3rd in District VI; Move on to State Tournament
Last Friday, the WolfPack faced off with Harmony High School in the second round of the District 6 tournament. It was a tight, emotion-filled game that came down to a questionable Harmony bucket that was shot after the clock ran out. The WolfPack left the gym with a loss, 75 to 74.
However, the SJCA boys recovered and took on Juniata Valley this past Wednesday for the District 6 consolation game and a chance to move on to the State tournament. This was the WolfPack’s 3rd match-up of the season with the Hornets. Again, it was a tight, emotional game, but in this case SJCA was victorious: 74 to 64. Sophomore Mike Lower dropped a career high of 33 points.
The WolfPack plays in the first round of the State tournament on Friday, March 10th. Their opponent will be decided tonight in another PIAA district championship game. When available, the game time and location, as well as link for tickets will be posted at www.stjoeacad.org. #GoWolfPack
Registration Now Open for SJCA Basketball Clinics for Girls In Grades 3 - 8.
