The Mustang Round Up

Staff Appreciation This Week
Good Evening Mustang Families,
Thank you to everyone for all of your support in this first week of testing. Students are doing well staying focused and trying their best on the assessments. We have one more week left and then we'll be doing make-ups. Please continue to remind your student to get to bed early, eat a good breakfast, and arrive at school on time.
Staff Appreciation Week
We're excited to celebrate Staff Appreciation Week this coming week. Our MMO has planned a great week of activities and treats for staff including tacos, sandwiches, waffles, and much more. This work can be tough. Since the pandemic, schooling has changed dramatically and foundational policy changes like standards-based grading has made this year tougher than most. Yet, our staff has done a great job navigating this new landscape and adapting to the challenges that have come our way. Please join me in thanking our teachers, support staff, custodians, and para-educators for all of their hard work!
Have a great week!

New Event- A Library Of Us Experience at Marshall
Marshall Middle School is planning a Library of Us event. The Library of Us is a unique format that creates a safe space for sharing difficult questions and information about lived experiences between “books” and “readers”. It’s hard to hurt someone once you’ve heard their story. Adult human "books" from a wide array of experiences, will be available for "readers" to talk to and learn more about their experience in a positive, safe space. "Books" represent Military Veterans, disabled persons, Muslim, a Jewish Rabbi, member LGBTQIA community, and more. If you ever wanted to ask a question to a person living these experiences, this will be your chance in a safe and welcoming environment.
The Library of Us is designed to build a positive space for discussions that can challenge stereotypes and prejudices through conversation.

Scripps Ranch Bus Registration For 23/24 School Open Now
Registration for the 4 bus routes to Marshall Middle School opens on 4/7/23 and will close at 11:59 p.m. 4/30/23. ALL prospective riders MUST submit a new registration each year as we can not assume that current riders wish to continue bus service next year. The Google form will be made available via our website srbuscommittee.blogspot.com at that time or you can register using this link. There are 2 routes that pickup/dropoff at Dingeman Elementary, 1 route at EBS Elementary, and 1 route off of Swan Lake in the Scripps Highlands neighborhood. Details on specific pickup and drop-off times are also found on our website. Each route has 60 seats (240 seats total), and there is always a large number of families wanting to use the bus service, so we will hold a lottery on 5/18/23 via Zoom. We will also be looking for volunteers for next year's bus committee to keep the program running. Please email any questions to mmsbus@outlook.com.
