Student Council Drive for FOSTER CARE CHILDREN
Please support our student council and our class by bringing in toothbrushes, toothpaste, and hairbrushes for children in Gwinnett County's Foster Care System. These are items that are used when children are moved to a new foster care setting. It is hard for many of our students to understand what the impact of a new hairbrush and a new toothbrush can be. Please make sure these items are new and in the packaging they were bought in. We cannot use items that are not new. So far, our class is winning for the most donations! Let's keep it up!! We will take in donations thru this Friday, November 20th. Thanks so much!!!! This is an important lesson for our students to learn the joy they can feel by helping someone else.
Immigration Day is COMING!!!
Parents our Immigration Day will be help on December 15th this year. We are so excited for this Immigration Day simulation and your children are too! They each have been given a persona of a person who is immigrating to the United States from specific countries. In preparation for Immigration Day they will complete research on their person and the country they are immigrating from. At this point,we have had 3 parents sign up. We really need about 5 parents from each class. A letter went home Friday with information about volunteering. If you would like to volunteer and need another letter, just let me know! Thanks!
