Drop Off, Pick Up, Parking, Bus Lane
We are excited to have our new parking lots this school year. Thank you to all who have used them for being patient as our contractors completed work last week. After school, it typically takes only 8-10 minutes for the school to empty and most students to be bussed or picked up. We have a few tips and reminders as you navigate the new options for parking and student drop off/pick up.
- The North lot is a school bus only pick up and drop off of students. You may use the 820 E entrance only to park as you visit the school. Use only the East drive lane as individual drop off/pick up.
- The East drive through is the second driveway entrance to the school from 300 S. You may pull forward in the left lane and park in the right lane. The lane extends through the South lot to the seminary building so if it looks full in the park lane, pull forward toward the South lot and there are usually available spots to park and wait. You can also use the parking stalls in the South lot to wait if the drive lane happens to be full. There is now a finished entrance and exit to the South lot.
- We want to practice safety as we release students, so please avoid waiting in the pull through lane as we don't want students to walk through parked and pull through cars to get to a ride. Additionally, we want the pull through lane to remain clear for moving vehicles.
- Please be cautious and aware as you enter the left lane to pull forward as students may jaywalk though the lanes to get to rides that park on the road or in the church parking across the street. We are reminding and training students to use the crosswalk only.
- If you use the church parking lot, you may want to consider the drive lane, South lot parking, or even parking along the west side of 820 E south of the school by the seminary so students don't have to cross the street during this busy time.
- We have crossing guards at both the drop off/pick up lane and 820 E. Thank you for your courtesy and patience as we help students cross both areas.
Student ID Barcodes Are Coming
This year, students will receive their ID cards within a day of getting their school picture taken. There will be a barcode that identifies their student ID number. This can now be used to scan for hot breakfast and lunch instead of having to key in the number. This will make the lunch lines go more quickly and give students more time to eat. If you have a hard time remembering to keep your ID with you, take a good quality photo of the barcode and save to your phone photos and scan from the phone.
Remote and Dual Learners: Your picture badges will be available in the main office by Friday.
