What are essential oils and how do I use them? These questions and more will be answered by naturalist, Nicole Wicker. Plus the first 10 participants will receive a free sample!

HOW TO GET A JOB! - 6pm Tuesday, January 9 & 23
Searching for a job is easier if you know how. This month we look into Goal setting with SMART goals on 1/9 and Career Pathways on 1/23. A free ongoing series, instructed by Monique Dennis.

For teens and young adults interested in watching and discussing different anime series. Enjoy an activity, snacks and new episodes each week!

Join Local Neurologist, Dr. Kashyap Patel MD in an exploration of the art of meditation. Learn how, why and potential health benefits of this ancient practice.

US Navy (Retired) Lt. William Craig Elliott brings his novel to life for audiences through his novel, Mike Blackstone, NIS Special Agent, Assignment: Naples, Italy. Based on his experiences in Italy as a Navy Investigative Services (NIS) Special Agent.

The Changing of Names - 6pm Thursday, January 18
Genealogy & Local History Coordinator, Lillian Wingate, will help us understand how our family names may have evolved over the years, and the reason why these changes occurred.

GSU Animal Day (family program) 2pm Saturday, January 20
Join us for Animal Day, where we’ll have animal crafts and activities, coloring sheets and a free animal book for every child! We’ll even have special animal visitors from Georgia Southern University’s Center for Wildlife Education.
Adult Cooking Series – 6 PM Monday, January 22
Renowned chef, Patrick White will give a live demonstration, tasting, and share cooking tips! On the menu: A medley of pastas!

Learn new and assorted ways to get moving and stay motivated in maintaining a healthy lifestyle. This month, Damali Bacchus will get us moving with Bollywood Dance—music and movement!

Free Online Genealogy Websites - 6PM Thursday, January 25
Genealogy & Local History Coordinator, Lillian Wingate, will show patrons many different Free Genealogy websites and how to access them. A brief overview of each website will be reviewed.

Join us for walk down memory lane! A review of music and spoken word of Nobel Prize winner, the great Bob Dylan, in collaboration with talented musicians, STRL staff & Friends of the Library members.
