Teacher Assignments
Summer Assessment Information and Sign Up
Classroom/Teacher Assignments
Students will be able to learn who their teacher is on Monday, August 14 at 9:00 AM. Parents will need to visit the Parent Portal and login to learn who your child’s teacher is for the 2023-2024 school year. The directions on where to locate your child's homeroom teacher within the parent portal are attached below.
Please note: With continued enrollments coming in, we may be adding sections to specific grade levels. While this is exciting as class size would decrease, we would then have to move students from their original assigned classroom teacher to balance our class lists and sizes. Thank you for your understanding.
Updated Attachment Below: We learned the link that was in the original email sent last week is not working. The directions below have an updated link on accessing the parent portal.
Summer Assessment Dates
To better meet the needs of our learners, all students in grades K-5 will have an opportunity to meet individually with Cherry View teachers during our Assessment days on August 24th or 29th. This gives us a great opportunity to meet your child, build a connection, and learn more about what they need academically at the beginning of the school year. Results from the summer literacy assessments will be shared during fall conferences.
Students in Kindergartener will meet for 30-45 minutes to read with their teacher and do a little math, talk about their interests, and build a positive connection around learning for the upcoming year.
Students in 1st – 5th grade will meet for 30 minutes to take a literacy assessment with their teacher, talk about their interests, and build a positive connection around learning for the upcoming year. In addition, first graders will also do some math with their teacher.
During this time, we ask you to remain at Cherry View in Gym A & B until your child has completed his/her assessment. While students are meeting with staff members, you will have the opportunity to complete any required school information forms and paperwork. If possible, please arrange childcare for siblings not being assessed.
Families with more than one child attending Cherry View may wish to schedule assessment appointments on the same date and time.

School Supplies
Please bring your child’s school supplies in a grocery bag labeled with your child’s name and teacher name to your child’s assessment.
Picture Day
We will have a picture make-up day on September 20th for students/families who are unable to attend one of the assessment days.
Student Medication
The school health office must have a written doctor’s order along with a signed parent permission form for the nurse to be able to administer any medication at school to your child. This includes prescription medication and all over-the-counter medications such as Tylenol, ibuprofen, cough, cold and allergy medications. Prescription medications must be brought to school in the original container labeled for the student by a pharmacist, and must be administered in a manner consistent with the instructions on the label. Medication authorization forms can be picked up in your school’s health office or printed from bit.ly/30YszSc. The school also can accept faxed orders from the physician.
Medications cannot be transported by students and must be brought into the health office by an adult. Please call your school’s health office with any questions regarding our medication policy.
