COVINGTON PLACE NEWS
Week of February 10, 2014
IF NOT YOU, WHO?
On March 11, 2014 we will be holding our yearly election for a two-year term to the HOA Board of Directors. There are three seats available. For the last two weeks we have been actively soliciting names to be placed into nomination. So far, only one member has submitted a name for consideration. Therefore, we are extending the nomination date until Tuesday, February 11th at close of business.
You can submit your name by sending an email to firstname.lastname@example.org. Include your name, address and your phone number and a brief description of your qualifications. A member of the Board of Directors will contact you to confirm your nomination.
The three retiring members, Kendra Losch, Shawn McGovern, & Ralph Ingerson have served on various HOA Boards and Committees for eight years. Because of their involvement the HOA is financially sound with updated and repaired amenities and an active social calendar. We owe them our thanks because they have built the framework for our success. Now comes the time they must pass this responsibility on to other members of the community.
Serving on the Board of Directors requires a minimum amount of time and should not be an impediment in deciding to run for office. Our two contract vendors, Grace Management and Sub-Division Services, handle the basic accounting, legal, and logistics work. The Board of Directors works as a team to set policy, write procedures, provide oversight and is the voice of the HOA directly affecting the quality of life in our community.
We need members in good standing to accept this challenge. We need help protecting and consolidating the gains of the last eight years. We need help preparing for future growth. Please place your name in nomination today. If not you, who?
