Scott Star Student for September
Friday marked the end of September and time to start celebrating our students and staff for their hard work and dedication. Santiago Gonzalez was announced as our first Star Student of the school year. He earned 11 golden tickets this month! Santiago will be featured in our front hall of fame for the rest of the school year.
Golden tickets are earned by students who go "Above and beyond" the expectation of Respect, Ownership, Courage, Kindness, and Safety. Staff present golden tickets to students when they see them doing great things.
Congratulations Santiago for earning this honor. We are so proud of you and your hard work this first month of school. You are a ROCKStar!

Employee of the Month
Over the course of the month, staff, students and families are invited to email Mrs. Lamothe about teachers and staff going above and beyond. This month we had 15 staff members that were nominated for their dedication to helping students and staff succeed. Our PBIS team met on Thursday after school to talk about the nominations and make the difficult choice. After much deliberation, our September Employee of the Month is Mrs. Marchesani! Mrs. Marchesani received a banner to hang in her classroom, and she will be featured in our front hall of fame on the main floor. Mrs. Lamothe will also be washing her car.
Mrs. Marchesani regularly goes above and beyond to help her colleagues. She jumps in and offers her help whenever she can. Mrs. Marchesani even took her own time before and after school to tidy up one of our staff rooms! Her students love her, and we are so happy to have her as part of our Scott family. Congratulations, Mrs. Marchesani!
Mr. Pearson, Mrs. Smith, and Mr. Altland were runners up and received $5 gift cards to treat themselves at Wawa.

Nurse's Corner
Just a couple reminders to families:
- Students should not be contacting families to be picked up when they are not feeling well. Students need to be assessed by the nurse and calls home will be made as needed. If families want to be called each time their student comes to the nurse, please email Ann Keenan, school nurse (keenana@casdschools.org). It is not standard practice to call home for non-urgent matters.
- Emergency Health Forms were sent home last week (lime green). If you did not complete the Emergency Health Information online, you must complete the paperwork and return it to the school nurse.
- Covid 19 is still causing illness and absences. Please continue to test and take precautions to avoid further spread. 5 days of isolation followed by 5 days of well-fitting masks is the current CDC guideline. (see below).
- The school nurse will be starting health screenings (Vision, Growth and Scoliosis). If your student has glasses, please make sure they have them for school.
