#Unity Heartfelt thanks to our Gananda Staff for their generous donations of support to create scholarships in the names of Kelly Witter and Alex Fee. A total of $2,182 was collected! The scholarships will be presented to two students in June. What a great testament to our Gananda School Family and the memory of two wonderful people. | #Outstanding Instead of having one "Pink Game” this year, the Gananda JV & Varsity Volleyball teams, along with the Marion teams have decided to have two games. The teams believed it would be a good way to promote their Making Strides Against Cancer campaign. The first game was held at Gananda on September 13th and the next game will be held at Marion on October 9th. The teams will be taking part in the Making Strides Against Cancer Rochester walk on Sunday, October 20th. They are now looking for donations to reach their $1000 fundraising goal. Please consider making a donation through the Blue Panthers 2019 webpage. The teams will donate the money raised to promote research in breast cancer. | #Respect The Gananda Middle School Recycling Club, formed last year, is working hard to prevent useful items from being thrown away. At the end of the school year, the club collected binders, paper, pens and pencils, locker shelves, folders, etc. from students who planned on tossing the items. At the beginning of this year, tables were set up with these items and given to students who needed them. The remaining supplies are stored and will continue to be given to students in need throughout the year. |

Save The Date - Financial Aid Night at Ruben A. Cirillo High School
The counseling office is excited to host our annual Financial Aid Night on Thursday, September 26th at 7:00pm in the high school library. Mr. Joe Bailey, Director of Financial Aid at Genesee Community College, will conduct a presentation on all things related to financial aid for post-secondary education, including the ins-and-outs of the FAFSA, scholarships, grants, loans, filing deadlines and more! This presentation is one of the most important you can attend as a family as you prepare for the next chapter in your student’s educational life. PLEASE make every attempt to bring your student with you to this presentation - making an informed decision about college includes an awareness and understanding of the financial aid process and obligations. We look forward to a packed house!
