8th Grade Crossover Ceremony Academic Requirements

As we are nearing the halfway point of the year, it is important that 8th grade students understand the requirements to participate in the Crossover Ceremony and 8th grade Celebration at the end of the school year. 8th graders must pass, at minimum, 3 of 4 core classes (English, Math, Social Studies, Science) for both Trimester 2 and Trimester 3 to be eligible to participate in both of the end of the year activities. Please talk with your 8th grader about these requirements, and stay tuned for more information about Crossover and deadlines for Trimester 3 grades.

Did you move or do you plan to move before next fall?

Please update your address during the registration process. Students who move out of the district prior to next fall must complete a Schools of Choice application in order to return next school year. The Schools of Choice deadline is Tuesday, May 16. You can find additional information at lakeviewspartans.org/choice.

Freshman Football

All football players going into 9th grade, there will be lifting and speed workouts at the high school beginning the Monday after spring break. The workouts will be every Monday, Tuesday and Thursday starting 15 min after school releases. Please contact Coach Vernon or Coach Underwood with any questions.


East Coast Trip Attention Parents of 8th graders going on the East Coast Trip! Mandatory Meeting is May 1st at 7 pm in LMS cafeteria! You must choose 3 roommates for the East Coast Trip. You must have your final payment and roommates chosen by March 31st. If you do not have roommates, please see Mrs. Vanhoose and she will put you in touch with others who do not have roommates already. If you know someone who wants to register for the trip - send them to Mr. Gilbert's classroom for a registration form today! Only 114 days before we leave for the Big Apple! Students on Prairieview Elementary Property

Lakeview Middle School students may not go onto Prairieview Elementary property after our dismissal. This causes a disruption in the learning at Prairieview, and creates an unsafe environment on their playground. Students on Prairieview property will be subject to disciplinary action at the middle school.
