This Week's Story: The All-American Slurp
In this week's story, The All-American Slurp, the Lin family has just moved to America from China, and they find American table manners an amusing trial. But before long, the tables are turned, and the family has some realizations about American culture. This text just happens to be loaded with onomatopoeia. Be certain you ask your child what in the world onomatopoeia is.

All money collected will be donated to the Franklin County United Way. All students are welcome to participate in any or all of our activities. We thank you in advance!

Comfort all day in your favorite Pajamas!

Students are welcome to dress like their hero. This can include super heroes, military, police officers, firefighters, nurses, or family members. Help support United Way by remembering our everyday heroes.
Thursday, April 14- Crazy Hair Day

Friday, April 15- Beach Day
It’s getting close to summer so why not start early? Wear your favorite beachy attire…. sunglasses, hats, beach towels, Hawaiian shirts, sun dresses, beach wear (must be school appropriate). Please remember that this is also our field trip to the bowling lanes, so students may wish to forego participation in this day.
** Hallway Bucket Races***
Which hallway can fill their bucket or buckets with money? The hallway that fills their bucket with the most money will get a chance to have extra recess and popsicles! Hallway buckets will be placed in each hallway. Watch your bucket fill up as we make donations to United Way. Coins or bills can be placed in each bucket. Buckets will be collected Friday morning at 8:30.
To the Beach!
We are still in need of your help as we get ready for our Carnival on Friday, April 29th. I inadvertently listed that date as a Saturday in last week's newsletter. If you are willing to help, please send an item that goes along with our sixth grade basket theme: To the Beach!. Check out the list below to help you with ideas of things we could use in our basket! If you would rather donate money for us to purchase items to fill the basket, you may do that, too. We would like to have all donation items by April 25th, so we have time to put everything together for the Carnival. Thank you so much for being the amazingly supportive parents/guardians that you are!
Basket ideas:
- Beach towels
- Water toys
- Picnic supplies
- Outdoor games
- Bubbles
- Water bottles
- Sunscreen
- Bug spray
These are only ideas, so take these suggestions and run with it. We sincerely appreciate all your help!
