Important Homework Update
As a team we have decided to try something new for homework. Your kids all work so hard every day at school. We want to give them more time at home to relax, and be kids! We are now only assigning reading each night. Your child will still have their homework book Monday through Thursday, and we ask that you still sign off on their reading log each night. We will no longer be sending math or writing practice. We will offer some optional homework if you would like your child to spend longer on their homework each night. If you have any questions about this please send your child's teacher an email.
Classroom T-shirts
Please remember to send in $6 for your child's classroom t-shirt, if you are able to. Again, this is optional. However, it is so nice to have our class shirts on field trips or school wide events. It makes it easy for us to quickly know right where your child is at all times! Our goal is to have enough money for our class shirts no later than the end of the week. If we have our order in by the end of the week we will have our shirts in time for our first field trip.
Field Trip to Emerald Village
Our field trip to Emerald Village Gem Mine is October 12th. Please return your child's permission slip and money as soon as possible. If you would like to join your child on the field trip you may follow the bus and meet us there. You will pay your admission when you arrive at Emerald Village. We cannot accept money for anyone who is not a student at FES. With so many kids we ask that siblings do not join you on the field trip.
FYI
It's starting to cool down outside and it is chilly in our classrooms. Please send your child with a light jacket to wear in the classroom so they can be as comfortable as possible in their learning environment. Please be sure to label your child's jacket with their first and last name, in the case their jackets get misplaced.
We will begin sending home parent teacher conference requests soon. Please keep an eye out for these forms. It is very important that we get to meet with you all so we can tell you just how awesome your kids are!
