Ms. Smith's Weekly Update
January 10th, 2020
REPORT CARDS COME HOME TODAY
I just want to add the reminder that if we are still working on a standard in class, then we mark the as "AS" -approaching standard. This is just because we have not assessed it yet and cannot fully say "MS" -met standard. Lots of our standards are addressed through the whole year. This included, but it not limited to:
- Graphing/Data
- Word Problems
- Phonics
- Comprehension
- Customs and Traditions
- Historical Figures
- Etc...
If any consistent issue arises with a standard, I would have reached out as soon as I knew.
I've finally completed the Class google photo slideshow. I will be adding to this as the year goes on.
A note from our nurse: Here are a few reminders to help our community stay as healthy as possible!
Symptoms of the flu usually include fever with cough or sore throat, and sometimes a runny nose, body aches, headache, vomiting or diarrhea
Students AND staff must stay home with symptoms of the flu and should not return to school until they no longer have a fever for at least 24 hours without the use of fever-reducing medications.
Remind students and staff to wash their hands thoroughly with soap and water or use hand sanitizer regularly.
Create opportunities within the school day for students to wash their hands frequently.
Continue to teach children to cover their cough with their elbow, and to avoid touching their face.
The most effective way to prevent the flu is the flu vaccine!
