53 Ways to Check for Understanding
As I am completing 2nd round observations I found this chart posted in Deb Vehar's classroom. I thought it was a great tool of resources to check for students understanding. Thank you Vehar for the resource.
Patriot Tutoring
Patriot Tutors Needed
As you know it takes the whole school for our students to be successful. We are in need of more tutors for our 3rd grade teachers. Please step up and help out OUR kids.
- 3rd grade team has started planning for Patriot Tutoring!
- Begin in third quarter
- Need additional help
- If you are interested in tutoring or being a sub for tutoring, please let Mrs. Robbins know.
- Tutoring will be on Mondays and Wednesdays from 3:15 - 4:15
- Teachers pay $16.00 per hour and TA's pay $12.00 per hour. For every hour that you tutor you will be paid for 1/2 hour of planning
- If interested, let Mrs. Robbins know which day you prefer or if you would like to do both days. You can also share which subject you prefer.
Congrats!!!!
- Congrats to Kim Jones!

Make Up Time
An employee who did not work due to the bad weather can either:
- Use an Annual Leave Day
- Take a day without pay
- Make up the time
Intent to make up the days must be noted on the turnaround document submitted, otherwise the days should be marked as AL or a day without pay.
Key Items to Note:
- Time must be worked on site
- Can be in no smaller than half hour (.5) increments
- Time worked must be beyond normal workday schedule or on weekends
- Classified employees will work accruing comp time to make up the time. Comp time is any work beyond the normal work day. Any time worked over 40 hours is considered time and half; while any time worked prior to earning 40 hours is counted as time. This should be documented on TimeKeeper.
Counts as a full day: 7.5 hours for certified staff and a regular day for all other staff
Bus Drivers cannot make up the time missed on the bus. However, the time missed driving the bus can be made up by working extra in the split position. Pay will be based on the split position, not the bus driver pay.
BASP and Child Nutrition are not eligible for make up time. As there are no or very limited duties to be performed once the children leave in regards to BASP and when the cafeteria is cleaned after the last meal is served for Child Nutrition, extra time worked would not be of a productive nature. Only time allowed by the Director of the Program will be added for both BASP and Child Nutrition.
Please let Jackie know of your intention.
