We are thankful!!
Thank you to each of you who donated food, volunteered your time, or both, to help our Thanksgiving feast run smoothly. The kids had a great time! We are thankful for you and all you do to help. We couldn't do it without you!
Weekly Happenings
This week, we learned that nouns are people, animals, places, and things. We found them in books, poems, our classroom, and discovered that they are all around us!
We continued to work on editing our personal narratives by checking for correct capitalization and punctuation to help it become more fluid and readable.
In spelling/phonics, we studied long e words and learned that those words often have two vowels in the middle of them.
In social studies, we continued our discussion of the history of Thanksgiving and even went on a virtual field trip to see how the Pilgrims reached America!
In math, we completed our study nonstandard measurement by measuring the area of animals from the Dallas Zoo! We also reviewed patterns in counting to 120 by counting by 2's, 5's, 10's, and backwards.
In science, we finished our animal research and created a virtual tour of the Dallas Zoo to share with a children's hospital so that young patients can "go to the zoo" when confined to a hospital bed. We will be sharing the awesome products with you soon as well!
Annual Turkey Drive
We appreciate your help and willingness to provide for another family this Thanksgiving!
