As the year is wrapping up, CIS is working to evaluate our programming from the eyes of the faculty and staff, students, and parents. Your honest feedback is vital to the success of CIS on the Sadler Means Campus in relation to working with you personally, and with students who need support.

Please note this is a confidential survey and all constructive feedback is valued. Please complete this survey by this Friday, May 6th. After you finish the survey, please directly send me, Allison Quinones, an e-mail stating that you completed it. When I receive an e-mail from you acknowledging that you finished it, you will be entered into a drawing for a $10 gift card of your choice.

Thank in advance for your help in completing this! I appreciate you taking a few minutes of your day to provide feedback.

CAMPUS NEED- Environmental Science

Hello! The environmental science class will be upcycling ANYTHING WE CAN FIND!!! We are wanting to make sustainable art for the solar schoolyard that is visually appealing. The theme of our schoolyard is "Urban Garden of Curiosities" so nothing will be unusual! Right now we are looking for dishes, coffee mugs, glassware, ceramic ware, broken mirrors, marbles, glass beads... anything usable for mosaics. The girls are really looking forward creating something memorable!

Bring by 503 or take straight out to the solar classroom! THANKS!!!

Students Earn Jeans on Fridays

Reminder, if we have 30 or less dress code violations by lunch on Thursday, all faculty and students will earn a Jeans and College/Spirit Shirt day! Yay!

As you know, there is a strong connection between student attendance and academic achievement in school. It is important that students attend school each day. Students will be given an Attendance Letter on Tuesday, April 26th, from their M&M teacher.

In concordance with the Texas Education Code, which states “…students in any grade level from kindergarten through grade 12 may not be given credit or a final grade for a class unless the student is in attendance for at least 90 percent of the days the class is offered.”

Students with below 90% in a course but who successfully completed Ignite will not have to attend Saturday School. Students who did not participate in Ignite and are below the 90% threshold for a course must attend 2 of the 3 Saturday Schools or 6 of the Afternoon Schools. More information about Saturday and Afternoon Schools is forthcoming.

Thank you,

Joanne Clark
