Yearbook Distribution and Signing

Yearbooks will be distributed throughout lunches on Thursday, June 4th. We will offer grade level signing time on field day, which is Monday. As a teacher or team, you are welcome to build yearbook time into your day, but as a team and team, you are also encouraged to set parameters and expectations for your students with yearbooks.

Laptop Switch and Collection

Please remember that teacher laptop switch is on FRIDAY! You need to be sure you have saved all of your information on an external device or in drive. Please see Ms. Felicia Davis with any questions earlier in the week.

Please also remind students to save anything they want to keep, as their laptops will be "clean" when they get them back in August. Make sure you read Ms. Wilson's emails carefully as it's essential we follow the schedule and directions for collecting over 1000 laptops. The technology department is depending on us to do our jobs well!

Grade Level Awards Ceremonies

Make sure that your team communicates on the following for your grade level awards ceremony:

- Each team chooses 10 character recognitions for strong character (Students will receive a ribbon provided by the school and a certificate if you want to create one).

- Each team chooses ONE outstanding student of character for the entire team to a child that demonstrates what you believe the model MMS student should be. (Student will receive a medal for outstanding character provided by the school).

- Each teacher should choose one student who will receive the highest academic average award for his/her content (student will receive a medal provided by the school). Teams will receive a total of 6 medals per team: one for science, one for social studies, one for ELA regular, one for ELA honors, one for math regular, one for math honors.

- ELECTIVES: See Ms. Sarver for details on your awards as we are using medals for your students this year, too!

We will also award students for honor roll and perfect attendance (Kathi will print certificates and we will provide ribbons). We also have specific "big" awards for each grade level that are awarded (Laurie Thomas Award, Tina Frye Award, Spirit of the Red Imp Award, Rick Spielman Award).

If you have any questions, please let us know!

Schedule Survey Decision on items

Thank you for taking the time to respond to our first scheduling survey! We were able to gather some good information from you on clubs for looking at Team Time next year. Also, we will do 4 4-person teams in the 8th grade next year and 4 4-person teams in 7th grade. We are working with Central Office with those 2 other teacher positions. After completing the 2nd scheduling survey, we hope to have even more information to you regarding the process for scheduling.

Student Survey Reminder

Please remember that every teacher should complete a student survey with your students. You will soon receive a google form to share your reflections from that survey, and what you learn should also contribute to your thoughts guiding your PDP for next year.

Book Study Thoughts

You should have received your chosen book study book at this point. These are your books invested in your learning, so you may mark in them, etc. Please remember that you will be offered one general CEU for your time investment over the summer. Your books should be complete by our first teacher workday, as our learning discussion will be part of the opening workday time together. Thank you!

Pictures Above

Congratulations to Laura Miller on the arrival of her new granddaughter, Hadley Ashlynn Miller! Also, congratulations to our Students of Character! And the 49er team had their students set specific goals for the EOG and posted them in the hallway. Way to encourage our kiddos!
