Texas Science & Engineering Fair

On March 24th, the Texas Science & Engineering Fair was held in San Antonio.

Eighth grader, Shoumik R. competed well and placed 3rd in his Computational Biology and Bioinformatics category. We are so proud of all his hard work and effort.

Further congratulations to our former Grizzlies in our Westwood Learning Community who performed spectacularly as well.

A note to 8th graders. Want to compete in the Science fair at Westwood?

Contact Mrs. Judy Grimsley to help you find summer camps and begin the Regional Science Fair Division paperwork process.

L.E.A.D April 12th Meeting discusses state and local government

How impacted do you feel by the policies that local, state, and federal officials set? On April 12th, all students are invited to join the club L.E.A.D ( Leadership. Engagement. Action. Development). In this club meeting students will take a look at state and local control, and the people who make decisions for us. If your student is interested in helping the community, and learning about what our community can do to make itself a better place, they should come to room 104 ( Mrs. Rank’s room) on April 12th at 7:30 am. For more information contact Mrs. Rank at

Community Service Highlight

All Grisham students are encouraged to do community service with a goal of 15 hours per year. In addition, all 8th Graders participate in a structured, self-designed IB Service Project. We are highlighting the Central Texas Food Bank this month. This organization is a favorite of many Grisham student volunteers. If you still need hours, or just want to do some good, check out their website for more information.

As always, log your service hours here. 2017-2018 Service hours are due by May 5 for recognition at our awards ceremony!
