Resurrection-St. Paul School
Encounter Christ's Presence - Year of the Eucharist
December 5, 2021
Important Reminders from Nurse Julie Rice
Dear RSPS Families,
As we enter the cold/flu season on top of Covid, it is imperative to continue practicing the mitigation strategies both in and out of school: social distancing, mask wearing, and hand hygiene to name a few. If you are gathering with others outside of your family, we strongly encourage you to be outdoors when possible and limit the time spent indoors with those who are not fully vaccinated. We always encourage you to err on the side of caution to avoid the possibility of exposing others and, in turn, extended absences.
Similarly, it is important to keep everyone in the household in mind when you are monitoring for symptoms. If there has been a known exposure and anyone (parents, relatives, older or younger siblings at RSPS or not) in the household develops symptoms, all members of the household should quarantine pending a negative PCR test result for the symptomatic individual.
This is a friendly reminder that students should have their mask on when they exit the car and carry at least one extra mask with them each day.
Lastly, thank you so much for your partnership in reporting the health of your children and families with us. We know that keeping your children home by choice or by mandate is not easy, but we want you to know how much we appreciate your cooperation in keeping everyone as safe and healthy as possible. Your partnership is key and you ARE making a difference and helping to keep our community safe.
Sincerely,
Julie Rice
Nurse

Flyers & Other Information
Thank Your Clark's Ace Hardware! - The Resurrection-St. Paul School community would like to thank Margaret Clark, owner of Clark's Ace Hardware store and the RSPS HSA for providing RSPS with a wonderful array of artificial Christmas Trees, one for each class to decorate, creating a beautiful winter wonderland. We hope you will consider patronizing Clark's Hardware Store, especially during this holiday season to acknowledge their business partnership with Resurrection-St. Paul School and to show our gratitude!
Yearbook Cover Contest - This year's theme is "Encounter Christ's Presence." All students are welcome to submit a design that reflects this theme to be used as our yearbook cover. Submissions should be on an 8 1/2 x 11 page. They may be composed digitally or through various media such as crayons and/or markers. Be careful when composing your design. If using crayons or colored pencils make sure the color is not too light. Also, stay away from "glittery crayons/markers" and any additional glitter. If you have any questions, please reach out to Ms. West. Submissions are due Monday, January 4th.
RSPS Spirit Store - Check out the RSPS Spirit Store and show your Panther pride. Items can be customized for individual names, sports, and clubs. These make great gifts during the holiday season and part of the proceeds go back to the HSA. Although these are not part of the uniform, we will have two spirit days in school on 1/21 and 3/7.
IF YOUR CHILD(REN) WILL BE ABSENT FROM SCHOOL - Please either complete the absentee form found on our website or leave a message on our attendance line (410)-461-9111 x 250.
Christmas Gifts of Gratitude -The HSA is proud to offer the Christmas giving program, “Gifts of Gratitude.”
This program provides a convenient way for families to express gratitude to the dedicated faculty and staff that have supported our children in the fall semester. Families make monetary contributions and all of the contributions are pooled to give the faculty and staff member one total sum of money in the form of a check. Here is the link for making contributions. Or, you can visit the school website and click on “Gifts of Gratitude” located on the HSA page. The HSA Gifts of Gratitude Program will be open from November 28, 2021 through December 13, 2021. Simply record your family name and make a contribution that you are comfortable with. Your contribution will be divided amongst all faculty and staff. The Deadline for submitting gifts is December 13, 2021 and your FACTS account will be invoiced (to your oldest child) on December 17, 2021.
Participation is completely voluntary, and if families prefer, email messages of thanks are always welcome!
This is a confidential program and the faculty and staff will not be aware of the individual gift amounts.
NEW CHRISTMAS PAGEANT DATE - Please note the change to our original school calendar regarding the date of the Christmas pageant! The pageant will now be held on Friday, December 17th from 10:00 - 11:30 a.m. and again from 1:30 - 3:00 p.m. We are asking parents in grades K-4 to attend the first performance and parents of those in grades 5-8 to attend the later performance. The pageant will be performed twice and also live streamed at 1:30 for family and friends.
Pre-K will have a separate date for their Christmas performance. They will preform on Monday, December 20th at 10:00 a.m. Pre-K parents are invited to gather beginning at 9:00 a.m. in the cafeteria for donuts and coffee before the performance.
Service Hours - Service Hours can now be logged in using the link found on our website.
Any family with carryover hours from last school year, will have those hours added to your account by next week. Please review our Parent/Student Handbook for more details pertaining to service hour obligations.
