Splendora Junior High Newsletter
December 13, 2019
Our last project just before the Thanksgiving break was building cardboard robotic hands. Students learned about the human hand anatomy and how the fingers move and then build a robotic hand using straws, yarn, tape, and cardboard that had articulating fingers that could be used to lift an object. We studied robotic object manipulators and lifting mechanisms during this time as well. Once completed, students were able to pull the strings and move the cardboard fingers.
On December 10th, members of the Splendora Junior High Band competed in the annual region band competition. Congratulations goes to the following student; Jasmine Rodriguez, 8th chair Flute and Raymond Gonzales, 2nd chair Percussion. These students will represent Splendora Junior High this weekend in a clinic and concert at Tarkington Middle School.
