This has been a busy week at Jackson with two Spelling Bees and College and Career Week! Congratulations to Oluwatoyin Odumosu, Jackson's Spelling Bee Winner, and Alan Eduardo Flores, Jackson's Spanish Spelling Bee Winner. This year's Scripp's National Spelling Bee was online, and it was our first year to participate in Region 10's Spanish Spelling Bee. Please read more about our winners below.
It has also been fun to see our students get excited about their future during College and Career Week, and we want to thank the parents and members of our Jackson community who submitted a career presentation video!
Picture Day has been rescheduled for Monday, February 1, for Jackson's Face2Face students and Tuesday, February 2, for School@Home students. Please see the link below for our School@Home students to sign up for a picture time. It would be great to have all of our students' pictures in the 2020-21 yearbook!
This Monday, January 18, is Martin Luther King, Jr. Day and a student/teacher holiday. We hope you enjoy the long weekend!
Thanks,
Kamili Carthledge, Assistant Principal

Jackson Science and Engineering Fair
Dear Parents,
The Jackson Science and Engineering Fair will be held on Wednesday, January 27. Due to the nature of COVID-19, all student projects will be submitted electronically using the PISD Elementary Science and Engineering Fair Virtual Project Slide Template. All projects must be submitted on/or before Friday, January 22, by 3:00 p.m.
Though participation in this annual event is voluntary, we want to encourage interested students in grades kindergarten through 5th grade to take advantage of this opportunity to exhibit their knowledge. The Student Handbook is attached for your reference. Elementary Science fairs are limited to the campus this year as the Regional Science Fair has been cancelled.
If your child would like to participate in the Jackson Science and Engineering Fair, please use the link(s) below to register for the fair.
