Information about SNAP Benefits
Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) benefits will be changing starting March 1st.
Emergency food benefits for households receiving SNAP will end in March due to a recent change in federal law passed in the Consolidated Appropriations Act of 2023. This means households will receive their final emergency food benefit at the end of this month.
Beginning March 1, 2023, households will receive their regular monthly food benefit amount on the normal issuance date and will no longer receive additional emergency food benefits on their EBT cards at the end of each month. That means your SNAP food benefit will be lower than it has been in quite some time. PREPARE NOW. You can check the SNAP food benefit balance on your EBT card by going to www.ConnectEBT.com or calling 1-800-526-9099.
Questions? Call DHSS at 1-866-843-7212 (Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM) and visit de.gov/snapchanges for more information.
If you or someone you know is in need of food assistance, contact Delaware 2-1-1 or visit the Food Bank of Delaware's website at fbd.org.

Chromebooks and Cold temperatures
As we move into the winter months, it's important to remember that no technology devices should be left in cars overnight.
Batteries drain rapidly in freezing temperatures and condensation can cause permanent damage to the battery and LCD screen. If you forget to bring your student's Chromebook into your home, the best thing to do is not use it immediately. Bring it inside and gradually let the Chromebook warm to room temperature before charging and turning on the device.
