Fall Musical
Join us for the Fall Musical presented by the middle school students. We are excited for the first performance of this kind in the new Worship Center. Inspired by “The Grinch Who Stole Christmas”, The Grunch tells the story of Rudy Grunch, a grumpy 8th grader who always feels like an outsider. When the entire school gets excited about the annual school musical, he comes up with a perfect plan to ruin it for everyone; he’ll steal the sets, costumes and lights the night before it opens. But will the spirit of theatre prevail?
Congratulations to the 2021-2022 members of the Lutheran Junior Honor Association!

A Message from the Principal
Discover Concordia Night – for Prospective families
Over 50 families attended the event this past Wednesday. Also, Concordia High School hosted a lunch for our 8th graders here on our campus this week. These events are great ways to connect to our Lutheran high school.
Monthly Blog
I am beginning a blog, one that shares faith formation and opportunities for thoughts, for someone sitting in my chair as principal. I hope these are meaningful to you. There are many things going on “out there” in the world, and one of my goals is to continue to keep Christ in every aspect of our lives as families and Zion staff. Enjoy!
National Archery in the Schools Program [NASP]
Many of you (even those who do not have children in grades 4 – 8) have begun to ask where to purchase the Genesis bows used in our program. They are expensive, but it may become a hobby that can last a lifetime. Here are some links for you to look at:
The link above comes from the company and it lists options. But please also consider Double-G Archery in Georgetown. They will lease you a bow just to try out. They also will order them for you, and they usually arrive within 3 – 4 days. In addition, they have an indoor archery range where they allow you to practice. Ask for Paul, at 4185-B, East University Ave., Georgetown, TX 78626. Their direct line is 512.868.5530. Their business is just opposite of Eastview High School.
Academy, Bass Pro, and Cabela’s also carry the bow and accessories. For those below the 4th grade, the Mini would be the way to go. Otherwise, the Original Genesis is the bow we use in the NASP.
Wurstbraten
We have brought this back to Zion’s campus after having to cancel it a year ago due to the pandemic. Monday is the day! It is drive-through only. Please come! It is 4 – 7 pm, $12 per plate. Be prepared for long lines, but it will definitely be worth it!
Conferences Tuesday
This is such an important day. When I was in the classroom teaching, it was always my favorite day. I hope it is meaningful to you! Please keep in mind that our teachers will begin with prayer, they may ask you to walk by the Lost & Found Table and if you do not have a church home – will invite you to Zion. They can also talk to you about interest in baptisms. Overall, we hope it is a positive touchpoint for everyone, after one quarter of the school year has passed. Blessings to you during your conference time….
Coffee with the Principal
I did this at my Detroit school every quarter, just for one hour after drop-off, and it yielded great conversation, ideas, feedback, and even vision for the future. It will be for just one hour in the new lobby. The date for the first one is the 9th of November, after drop-off.
Our promise: Our second century of developing
Christian leaders who engage and excel.
