High School Heroes Recruitment for Sophomores, Juniors And Seniors...
We are excited that you are interested in the Turn Around Agenda High School Heroes student leadership program! As a Hero, you will engage in various opportunities that will engage your community as well as enable you to become a role model for elementary/middle school youth. ChristGiving Outreach 2020
The ChristGiving Outreach 2020 is an outreach effort by The Turn Around Agenda. It will take place on Saturday, December 5, 2020. Families will be blessed with toys for each school-aged child (13 to 17-year-old will receive a gift card) and food items for the Christmas season through a drive-thru experience. Registration will end on November 13, 2020. Families will be able to participate in our The Turn Around Agenda 360 program, which is designed to assist individuals and families with supportive services to make a turnaround in their life and equip them to reach back and help another individual or family do the same thing. We only have 50 slots open for all our districts.

If you’re graduating from a participating high school in 2021, the Dallas County Promise scholarship covers the last-dollar cost of tuition at a partner college/university for a limited amount of time or until you complete your degree. The last-dollar scholarship covers any monies due for tuition that financial aid does not, but does not include the costs of textbooks, transportation, etc. You should begin planning to cover the costs of books, transportation to and from school, and other incidentals as soon as possible.
To receive the last-dollar scholarship, you must attend a participating high school and qualify for in-state tuition. Our partner colleges and universities do not require any essays, entrance exams, or ACT/SAT scores. However, select partners will require your family/household income not to exceed $50,000.
Whether you’re graduating with a diploma or an associate degree, there is an opportunity available for you with one of our partner institutions on 16 campuses across the Dallas-Fort Worth region.
THE DALLAS COUNTY PROMISE FOR SENIORS GRADUATING WITH A DIPLOMA
There are six partners offering scholarships, both unlimited and limited, to seniors graduating with a high school diploma – Dallas College, University of North Texas at Dallas, Midwestern State University, Texas A&M University – Commerce, Texas A&M University- Texarkana and SMU. Once you complete an associate degree (2-year) at one of the seven Dallas College campuses, you are eligible to transfer to partner four-year universities with your last-dollar scholarship guaranteed contingent on meeting income and GPA requirements. Students pursuing their associate and/or bachelor’s degree from a partner college/university must maintain eligibility and remain enrolled. Technology Addiction Awareness Scholarship - due 1/31/2021
Young people spend an average of 7.5 hours a day consuming media--and this doesn't include computer use for schoolwork--according to the Kaiser Family Foundation. With technology always at the ready at your fingertips, it can be a challenge to unplug. But taking a break from technology is healthy for both the mind and body.The purpose of this scholarship is to help you understand the negative effects of too much screen time.

National Honor Society Scholarship (NHS Members Only)
Since 1946, more than $15 million in scholarships has been awarded to outstanding NHS senior members. The scholarship program is supported by the parent organization of NHS, the National Association of Secondary School Principals (NASSP).

Eligibility
- Must be a current high school senior graduating with the class of 2021
- Must be an active NHS member in good standing with a verified student account
- Must be enrolled at a school with an active NHS chapter
- Must be planning to enroll at a U.S. college or university in Fall, 2021
How to Apply
- NHS Members must create a student account before they can access the NHS Scholarship application.
- The NHS adviser must verify the student’s membership before the student can begin the application.
- Important: Applicants should not attempt to access the application until they receive confirmation that their adviser has verified their account.
- Verified NHS members may start the NHS Scholarship Application beginning on October 1.
- All applications must be accompanied by one recommendation, and certification by the NHS adviser by the deadline in order to be considered complete. Incomplete applications are not evaluated.

PB & J Scholarship
The PB&J Scholarship is now accepting applications and open to seniors at Lancaster High School, TX!
This scholarship is trying to fill in the gap for high school seniors who don't have high GPAs and have experienced personal challenges that may not have allowed them to perform well academically, but who still have the drive to succeed.
Examples of personal challenges include, but are not limited to:
- Medical issues
- Peer issues: bullying, change of school, minority status, etc.
- Family issues: divorce, death, lack of income, homelessness, foster care, abuse, etc.
Amount: $500 - $1,000 each
Priority Deadline: December 31, 2020

NRA Civil Rights Defense Fund Essay Contest

Students in grades 7-12 can enter this essay contest by submitting an essay of no more than 350 words on "What Freedom of Speech Means to Me." The deadline is December 1, 2020.

- 3rd place: $1,000
Unigo $10K Scholarship
Students 13 or older can apply for a chance to win one grand prize of $10,000. Your application must include a 250-word response to the prompt: "Imagine a historical figure is brought back to life. Who is it? What's their favorite mobile app?" The deadline is December 31, 2020.
Gen and Kelly Tanabe Scholarship

High school students can submit a 250-word essay on a topic of their choice for the chance to be entered into a competition to win a $1,000 prize. There are two contests per year. The fall contest deadline is December 31, 2020, and the spring contest deadline is July 31, 2021.
