WSD BOARD MEETING REPORT

The Wentzville School District Board of Education held a meeting on Thursday, Nov. 17, that was live-streamed via the District YouTube channel and can be viewed by visiting the WSD on YouTube. The agenda and available supporting documents can be viewed online under Public Access to BoardDocs.
Dr. Tormala, superintendent of schools, began the business portion of the meeting by providing comments and sharing District highlights. View the slideshow.
Annual Audit (2021-2022)
A representative from Fick, Eggemeyer and Williamson, CPAs, presented its third-party audit report for the 2022 fiscal year. The WSD received a clean audit of its financial records, accounting practices, and compliance with state and federal requirements during the fiscal year that ended June 30, 2022.
The Department of Elementary and Secondary Education (DESE) requires that the Board of Education approve the 2022 audit report by Dec. 31, 2022, and the Board approved the report in this meeting.
Professional Learning Program Evaluation (2021-2022)
Priscilla Frost, director of secondary learning, presented on the District's Professional Learning Program. The purpose of the program is to provide district educators with the learning and support needed to meet the academic and social needs of our students. Professional Learning provides educators with the growing knowledge and practices needed to ensure all students are prepared to engage in an ever-changing, connected world.

National Merit Scholar Semifinalists
The WSD is proud to announce Eian Fowler from Timberland High School and Grace Warren from Holt High School were selected as Semifinalists in the 68th Annual National Merit Scholarship Program. Eian was honored at the Board meeting. Read more.
Perfect ACT Score
Liberty High School junior Rafay Cheema has earned the highest possible ACT composite score of 36. Nationally, while the actual number of students earning the top score varies from year to year, on average, only around one-half of 1% of students who take the ACT earn a 36. Read more.
