Mackin's Friday Updates--June 8, 2018
Reminders for the Week of June 11th
As you begin to look at your end of year grades, remember that if your students are receiving a D or an F as a final grade, MTSS must be documented. Gabe and I have been reviewing grade book and find very few documented interventions in cases where students are receiving Ds or Fs. Remember--the grade book should be an accurate reflection of a student's progress.
It is very important that you enter attendance each morning. Not doing so results in a "ding" on Dashboard. (The monitoring tool for the District) Your name and room number appears with "attendance not entered". Not cool. Try not to forget:)
Keep up the good work cleaning out those classrooms and closets. If you have books or materials that you no longer need for your library or classrooms, please keep them in your room. We will collect those items on the 20th and 21st. Let's not put them in the hallway and wait for the collection fairy to take them away:)
The 20th and 21st are designated professional development days for all CTU members. The 20th is fully principal directed. You should have your classrooms packed-up by the end of the day on the 20th. If you have requested a PB day, we expect your classroom packed by the end of the day on the 19th. If you need extra garbage bags, contact the office. Also, remember not to overfill garbage cans and bags. Please follow the checklist that was placed in your mailbox Thursday evening.
A gentle reminder that Supply Lists are due on Monday. Please share them via Google Drive or as an attachment in email. Please make sure that the list is no longer than one page, one list per grade level, and in both English and Spanish.
SY 19 Organizational lists are due on Friday the 15th. Editing ability will no longer be available after the 15th, so please make sure that they are complete. Special education teachers, remember to add information to the lists for all of the students that you are working with this year.
Copy concerns: Never ask a student to make copies for you on the Riso. Copy machines are for staff use only.
There are many field trips taking place this week. Please don't forget to inform the lunchroom and your enrichment teachers.

It's Graduation Time
A special thank you goes out to all of our teachers that work with our 8th grade students. Your hard work, patience, and compassion are greatly appreciated not only by our graduates, but by your administrators as well. Thank you to Mrs. Nixon for organizing the many activities that our graduates will have to celebrate their tenure at Linne. In addition to their ceremony on the 19th, there will be an Awards Breakfast, a Dave and Busters Trip, an 8th Grade Luncheon, and a Field Day.
This year every member of the Class of 2018 will receive a diploma on stage. Woo Hoo!
Join us at 9:45 on June 19th in the main building as our graduates walk the hallway for the final time as students of Linne School. This annual tradition always brings tears to the eyes of our teachers.
