IVES/GJSHS Weekly Newsletter
Week of October 22-28
Outdoor Core
4th grade trip to Oroville to Kayak with the Salmon and tour the hatchery. It was a great day!
Kindergarten Visit to the Fire Station
Our kindergarten students walked to the fire station on Thursday. They were able to learn from Fire Chief Tony Balbiani about our Volunteer Fire Department. Of course, the best part was getting to climb into the fire truck!
GJSHS Welcomes Author Ben Mikaelson
GJSHS was privileged to have a visit on Thursday from Ben Mikaelson, the award-winning author of Touching Spirit Bear, one of our novels read by students in grades 7-8. He spoke to students about his experiences growing up and how he overcame adversity. He encouraged students to be the authors of their own stories. Students appreciated his message and we have some signed copies of his book that will be raffled to GJSHS students.
IVES PBIS Field Trip to Round Valley Reservoir
Sixty students from IVES chose to use 10 of their PBIS tickets to attend a field trip on Friday to Round Valley Reservoir. The weather was beautiful and the students were able to do some fishing! Keep earning those tickets!
