A Note From The Principal
Dear Edison Families,
It is my pleasure to welcome new and returning families to Edison Elementary for the 2022-23 school year! I hope this message finds your families refreshed and eager to kick off the year!
At Edison, we are committed to providing a safe and positive learning environment where all students experience success. Our staff works tirelessly to make positive connections with students and to prepare meaningful experiences to engage our learners. We’re looking forward to a productive partnership with you to ensure that all our Eagles reach their potential this year.
We can’t wait to (re)connect with all of our Eagles in just a few days!
Sincerely,
Mrs. Wiegand
Proud Principal
Classroom Assignments Will Be Emailed Wednesday 8/24
Student placement letters will be emailed to families the afternoon of August 24th.
If you have changed your email address or moved over the summer, please contact our office ASAP so we can ensure we have the correct contact information on file.
2022-23 Suggested Classroom Supply Lists
Please click below to access our Suggested Supply Lists for next school year if you want to plan ahead! You're free to bring in your school supplies on Wednesday 8/24 during Meet The Teacher Night.
See Map Below For Arrival & Dismissal Doors:
Find Your Child's Bus Stop Online
Bus stop information will be available online for the 2022–2023 school year starting August 29. You can access your child’s bus stop here by entering your address to retrieve your child’s bus stop information.
It is very important to check your child’s bus stop, as routes have been modified for the 2022–2023 school year.
Students will be assigned a route number in lieu of a bus number. The route number is located on the left side of the entry door. To ensure transportation, all students must be at their bus stop 10 minutes prior to the scheduled arrival time.
Please review with your child the bus rules found on the Transportation Department’s website.
FIRST DAY OF SCHOOL SIGNS
Celebrate the first day of school with your student! We have printable first day signs for every grade. Click on this LINK to access them.
Be sure to use #FraserFamily when you post on social media so we can share the smiles!
Does Your Child Have Medical Needs?
If your child has specific medical needs, please reach out to the main office prior to the start of school. In order to administer medication, consent forms must be completed. Consent forms for prescription medications must include dosage and frequency information signed by a physician. Medication, including inhalers, must be stored in the main office and not in backpacks or pockets. In addition, if your child has a medical plan, it will need to be updated for the 22-23 school year.
Please find medication forms linked below for your convenience.
Free And Reduced Meals Application
This year, students no longer will be automatically receiving free meals at school. The funding for this government program has ended.
Please see below for information about applying for free & reduced meals:
- Parents should submit a free & reduced application to determine if they qualify for free or reduced priced meals.
- There is a carry over period (30 school days from the first day of school) where students can use their status from the previous school year. This ONLY applies to actual benefits, meaning not all students are free for 30 days to start the year because everyone was free last year.
- Meal prices will remain the same as they were pre-Covid (last time students had to pay).
- Elementary Breakfast $1.35
- Reduced Breakfast $0.30
- Elementary Lunch $2.35
- Reduced Lunch $0.40
- We will be using a monthly Meal Order Form. Parents must complete the Meal Order Form each month in order to receive breakfast or lunch. These should be submitted to the Meal Coordinators prior to the start of the next month.
- Fresh fruit & vegetable bars are back!
- All prepayments should be made ONLINE using the new Family Portal.
Please complete the 2022-2023 online application to find out if your family qualifies for free or reduced-price meals.
