How to Speed Up Parent Drop Off and Pick Up
What to Do:
- Complete Parent Pick Up Registration-without this you will need to show identification
- Pull all the way forward in the line. We want the entire sidewalk filled with cars before students are sent out. This allows the maximum number of cars to fill each time.
- Stay in your car at all times.
- Students enter and exit curbside.
- Remind your student to listen for his/her name while waiting in the gym for pick up.
- During a.m. drop off, once your student is safely out and walking towards the building please pull out of the drop off lane.
- Have your student ready to exit in the morning. As you wait in the line, prepare your child to exit curbside quickly when you are on the curb.
- During p.m. pick up, please encourage your child to enter the car quickly. If your child needs buckling help, please pull into a parking spot to do so.
- Display your parent pick up tag in front window or on the visor for p.m. pick up.
- Do not encourage your child to move from the sidewalk as you drive up. We hold students until cars have stopped for their safety. We will not release your child to you if you stop in front of the stairs. All cars must move forward.
Update on Boundary Committee 2016
Two draft boundary scenarios have been posted along with a locator tool so stakeholders can enter their address and see which elementary school their child could attend based on each scenario. To view the locator tool for Scenario A, click HERE. To view the locator tool for Scenario B, click HERE. The Boundary Committee has been working since March on these scenarios and they will reconvene in October to review the scenarios based on public input and the latest enrollment data.
Please remember these are still DRAFT scenarios and changes will likely be forthcoming based on both feedback and updated enrollment, but the committee would like to hear from you, our stakeholders, as to their progress on these two drafts. You can share your comments by visiting this forum site. You will need to create an account in order to log in and post a comment.
***Please note, the locator tool appears to have some discrepancies with middle and high school boundaries, particularly in the area of the Bainbridge subdivision. If you currently live in FMS/LHS boundaries, SMS/THS boundaries, or WMS/HHS boundaries, that WILL NOT change with the new boundaries for 2017-2018 which will only affect our elementary buildings for grades K-6.
UPDATED TIMELINE:
September 2nd - October 2nd: Online Tool launched and shared so public can weigh in on the two draft scenarios;
First week of October - we verify our official enrollment numbers and share with our demographer to analyze with regard to the draft scenarios;
October 18th OR 25th: tentative date for next Boundary Meeting to examine drafts with regard to new numbers and review online comments/suggestions;
November: Boundary Committee meets to finalize a scenario the committee wants to recommend to the Board of Education;
December 15th: Admin presents committee’s boundary recommendation to the Board for approval;
December/January: Demographer applies new projections to approved scenario to complete demographic study.

LVE COLOR RUN - SATURDAY, OCT. 8th
Please join us on October 8th for Lakeview’s first Color Run!
The Color Run will be held at Lakeview Elementary School. The color run is being held as a fundraiser to support Lakeview’s School-Wide PBIS team. In addition, it will be a great opportunity to build school and community spirit and to have some family fun.
Lakeview’s PBIS team creates the school’s den dollars, stocks and runs the Lion’s Den store with the support of parent volunteers, and organizes and runs the school’s quarterly recognition assemblies. The goal of PBIS is to promote positive behavior in all settings of our school.
This will be a 2 mile untimed fun run/walk with color splash stations along the way, and a color toss at the end. Beat the rush to pick up your race day t-shirt, color packet, and race bib on Friday, October 7th from 4:00-5:30 p.m. in the front lobby. Race day pick up will begin at 9:00 am and the race will begin at 10 a.m.
All registration for this event will be done online. The link to registration is found below.

Looking for Lion's Den Volunteers for September
The Lion's Den is our school store that students visit to spend Den Dollars. Den Dollars are earned by attending school and meeting expectations. We are looking for parent volunteers who could help operate the store for September shopping days.
If you are interested in volunteering in the store, please complete the online registration form below. All shifts will be two hours long. Feel free to sign up as often as you'd like. All volunteers must have completed a Wentzville School District volunteer background check prior to working the store. Your participation is greatly appreciated.
We will be limiting our volunteers to 4 people for each time slot. These will be selected based on sign up order. We are looking only for people who can positively support our students during their shopping experiences.
Please click below to sign up.

Hats Off to You
The student then comes to the office and makes a positive call home with the principals. During this call, the reason for the nomination is shared. Students then pick some hats and props to take a celebration selfie with the principals. Students photos are displayed in the glass case near the gym for a week. We plan to share the photos of our winners each month. We are extremely proud of the positive actions these students are taking while here at Lakeview.
