Sharing Love
Students posted notes on bulletin boards at Sprague for Valentine’s Day to say, "I love you."
"At Sprague, we talk about love, kindness, and respect with our social-emotional learning throughout the entire year, but with Valentine’s Day, we wanted to especially think of all the different ways we show our love to those we care about," said Anna Ahne, English Language Learner Teacher. She added," Students decorated heart balloons with drawings, family photos, writing in diverse languages, and family traditions to display how their family says I love you!”
For pictures of the students' notes, please visit the school's Facebook page or view the Google Doc folder.

Discussions Around Mask Optional/Recommended Environments
As D103 schools make the transition to mask optional/recommended environments, school officials have been sharing the discussion with students. Following are several talking points Sprague has used with its young learners:
Make Up Day for ASAs
Date Change for Talent Show
The Sprague Talent Show has been moved to Saturday, April 2, due to a scheduling conflict with a prior date. The Music Appreciation Committee of the PTO is organizing the event where students will perform between 10 a.m. and 3 p.m.
Parent Input Sought on Survey
Sprague needs 48 parents to fill out the Illinois 5Essentials Survey so we have access to their feedback regarding school climate and learning conditions in District 103 through the state-administered, Illinois 5Essentials Survey. We need 20 percent of our parents to take the survey in order to see the results. The chart shows how many Sprague parents have taken the survey to date.
The 5Essentials survey is a great way for D103 parents to provide input into the five indicators from the survey that affect and predict school success:
Effective Leaders
Collaborative Teachers
Involved Families
Supportive Environments
Ambitious Instruction
