We are very proud of our fifth grade students and their many accomplishments while at McCarthy School. We will be celebrating them at our annual 5th Grade Completion Ceremony on the morning of June 20, 2023 at 9:30am. This special McCarthy tradition is a wonderful time for the larger community of staff and families to come together and honor and celebrate our 5th graders as they bring their elementary years to a close and continue on their academic journey to middle school.

We will hold this year’s Completion Ceremony in the Fuller Middle School auditorium, on June 20, 2023, at 9:30am. Doors will open at 9:15 am. We are hopeful that all of our students and their families will be able to attend this special celebration. Upon completion of the ceremony, the 5th grade students will walk back to the McCarthy campus, where family members are invited to join them and their teachers for a brief photo opportunity.

Wednesday is our PTO sponsored 5th grade PARTY! Students will be getting their 5th grade T-Shirt and will be signing yearbooks! This is a student only event.

McCarthy honors all 5th graders and retiring staff members with a "Clap Out" on the last day of school. K-4 students and all other staff line the hallways of McCarthy School for the 5th grade and Retiree Procession through the school. It is a wonderful tradition that we will continue this year on Thursday, June 22nd!

This year all students will participate in Move-Up Day on Wednesday, June 21st. Students will meet their GRADE LEVEL teachers, participate in an activity with them, and learn all about being on the next year grade. We WILL NOT be sharing next year's teacher's with students on Wednesday.

All students will receive notification of their 23-24 classroom teacher mid summer, along with a note from their teacher. This will be mailed and emailed to families.

Come one, come all! Join us at Mad Willies for our Year End Celebration! Grab a cone, dish or Sundae and enjoy the start of Summer with your McCarthy Friends and Families! Join us anytime after school gets out until closing! Mention McCarthy School and a portion of the proceeds will go to McCarthy School!

Pre-Registration will be open June 1st through Friday, July 31st.

We encourage families to fill out their pre-registration forms as soon as possible, as there is limited space at the start of the school year. We will increase our enrollment capacities based on our staffing structures. To qualify to pre-register, all balances from the 2022-2023 school year must be paid in full. If there is a balance from the 2022-2023 school year, it must be paid prior to July 31st, otherwise your student will be removed from pre-registration and won’t be eligible to enroll until payment is received; pending enrollment and staffing capacities.

Although we rarely have waitlists, pre-registration allows us to ensure quality staffing for when programming opens. If your student switches schools during pre-registration, their schedule will be guaranteed at their new school. School transfers after July 31st will be accommodated based on availability and staff capacity.

Scholarship applications are also being accepted at this time. If you need tuition assistance, please complete the scholarship application as soon as possible. As a reminder, scholarships are awarded annually and are not guaranteed from one year to the next. Scholarships will be awarded to families by August 11th.

Framingham-based, youth-oriented service groups are permitted to distribute recruitment material at four (4) periods during the school year. This Smore is one way that the District shares submitted material to all FPS families. The online transportation request form for the 2023 - 2024 school year is available!

ALL families requesting transportation must complete the transportation request form in Aspen. If you do not need a bus, you do not need to complete the form in Aspen X2.

• Families only need to complete the workflow form IF they want/need a bus for next year. Families who are not requesting a bus do not need to complete the form.
• The deadline for transportation registration will be June 12, 2023. (Transportation requests received after the June 12th deadline may not be processed until after the start of the school year.)

If you have a student entering 6th or 9th grade, be sure you sign up for transportation at your child's new school.
