A note from the Principal...
On another note, our students and parents have made arrival and dismissal primarily safe and successful. With that said, it is important for students and parents to be very cautious when entering and exiting the parking lot. Carline is a great way to help avoid congestion in the main parking lot if you are looking for alternatives to parking and coming in.

Parent Teacher Conferences
Co-Curricular Corner - Art
The art room has seen some amazing creative learning in September and October!
Kindergarten artists have started studying their faces in mirrors and learning how to draw what they see to make a self-portrait.
1st grade artists have learned some stories about Michelangelo and they have been inspired by this artist to make art in a brand new way. Currently, first graders are learning different kinds of lines and discovering what happens when crayon and paint meet on paper.
2nd grade artists started the year learning how the world remembers Vincent VanGogh. Second graders then thought about how they want others to remember them and used these thoughts as inspiration to create artwork. Now, second graders have been using a powerful artist ability to transform objects into new things. Soon they will be writing about their creative process in an artist statement.
3rd, 4th and 5th grade artists were introduced to Frida Kahlo. We learned how she used the joy in her life to help her through some difficult situations in her life. Then our student artists thought about what brought them joy and created artwork inspired by happiness.
4th and 5th graders have started following contemporary artists that have participated in this years ArtPrize.
Presently, 3rd grade artists are beginning a unit on drawing realistically from observation. Before this unit we took a pretest...outside! Art and learning happens everywhere. Soon, Mrs. Marchbanks will be sharing the world's greatest drawing tricks with these artists!
