College Counseling Newsletter
December 2023
From Mrs. Myrick
SENIORS: With most regular application deadlines being the beginning of January, please make sure you have asked your recommenders to write any letters you need as early as possible! If you have a deadline before January 20, please send out requests for letters and transcripts by December 8. Between December 22 and January 8, staff will not be checking emails or working, so please be on top of everything before break begins!
As a reminder, please be completing the College Acceptance Form below. I would love to put up some more college names on the Class of 2024 College Acceptance Board outside my office!
I have added the Scholarship Newsletter button to this month's newsletter! It will be on each month's college newsletter moving forward. Make sure you check that out as a first stop for scholarships that might be good for our students!
Juniors: You will be receiving your After Grad Packet early in the spring semester. The quicker you fill those out, the quicker we get to meet and start college planning. Winter break is a great time to start researching colleges and narrowing down your lists!
Junior Parents: I will be hosting a College Night for juniors and their parents sometime in the first 6 weeks of the spring semester. As soon as I have that date I will get that sent out to you!
As always, feel free to come by my office and chat, email, or schedule an appointment if you have any questions!

Class of 2024 College Acceptances!!
Letters of Recommendation and Transcripts
Teacher Letters of Recommendation: Once you have spoken with your teachers, you will simply add in their contact information to the application portals. The teacher will receive a notification to their email that they need to upload a letter of recommendation for you.
As a reminder, not all schools allow or require letters of recommendation. Please make sure you are reading the requirements for each school you are applying to!
Transcripts: Adding in my name and email address to application portals under the counselor section will allow me access to send your transcripts to universities.
