A Message from Miss David
Dear parents and caregivers,
It has been a pleasure to get to know and teach your children during this semester. There have been many challenges this year with COVID-19 and having to learn from home. These disruptions to learning have been hard for students, parents/caregivers and teachers alike but we have done a great job as a team to ensure students are working towards meeting Stage 2 outcomes. I appreciate the effort you have taken to support your children's learning for the Learning from Home, Learning from School phase. I am very proud of the progress 3D have made and I am looking forward to a wonderful (and hopefully normal!) semester 2.
Take a look inside our classroom to see what we've been learning about during Semester 1
English
During guided reading, we have begun learning about the Super 6 reading strategies. These strategies help us to comprehend what we are reading and help us to become stronger readers.
In writing, we have learned how to write different types of poems and have spent the past 5 weeks writing persuasive texts.
Mathematics
Science
During Term 1, we learned about different life cycles of living things. We even bought a butterfly so we could document its life cycle.
In Term 2, we have been learning about light, heat and electrical energy and how contact forces affect the behaviour of objects. We've had fun lots of fun conducting force and gravity experiments.
Creative Arts
For music, we learned all about The Beatles and then learned to to sing "Here Comes the Sun" for our end of semester assembly!
