9/11 was 20 years ago. The oldest students at Lakeview are 10 years old right now, with most 5th graders turning 11 at some point. What is our message to students today? I encourage you to talk with your children who are old enough to understand. Maybe you saved a newspaper from that day that you can share. Maybe you lived in a different country 20 years ago and had a unique perspective to share. Maybe you were a member of our armed forces, and for your service, we say "thank you!" Twenty years later, we are proud of our nation and our resilience in the face of fear, and that is the message we want to pass on to the next generation.
Early Dismissal on Wed, Sept 15
See the district calendar for additional early dismissal and no-school days this year.
Masks - Please help!
Please have several masks for your child, labeled with their name in their backpack.
We have some students showing up to school without a mask (about 10/day) and many more that lose or break their mask throughout the school day. Our spare mask supply is almost gone after only two weeks.
Homecoming Week Activities & Parade
#1 - If you have students in Grades 3, 4, or 5, they may walk with the Lakeview float in the Homecoming parade on Thursday, September 16. We did this two years ago and it was a lot of fun for the students. If interested, click this link to sign up by 3:35 on Tuesday and pay special attention to the information it contains regarding drop off and pick up at the parade.
#2 - Spirit Days at Lakeview - Wear the following each day:
Monday, Sept 13 - Crazy Hair or Hat Day (you pick)
Tuesday, Sept 14 - Sports Day (dress in any sports-related clothing)
Wed, Sept 15 - Color Day (each grade wears the following color)
4K - White
5K - Red
1st - Green
2nd - Yellow
3rd - Orange
4th - Blue
5th - Pink
Thursday, Sept 16 - Tropical/Hawaiian Day (which we will wear for the parade, too)
Friday, Sept 17 - Lakeview/Rocket day. Wear Lakeview or Rocket clothes. If you do not have that, wear Blue/White for Lakeview or Red/Black for the South Milwaukee Rockets.

PTO Meeting on Thursday, Sept 17
Special Note: Our superintendent, Dr. Jeff Weiss, will be joining us with ESSER funding updates which could positively impact Lakeview.
It is always easier to come to events like this with a friend, so get someone else to come with you! If you would like to join us virtually, please email Mr. Sepersky and we can connect with you on Zoom for the meeting.
