Please continue to check your Outlook email and Schoology pages daily. AVID students should be taking advantage of tutorial sessions with college tutors once a week for help with their core classes.

We are so proud of our AVID students! We will finish up the semester with a reflective essay that focuses on our growth as a student.

Please let us know if you are having any trouble opening or completing assignments. We are available during office hours at rebeccagliniecki@usd475.org or crystalholzer@usd475.org.

Wildcat Families,

I hope all is well!

Next week the postcard project is due (80%). (May 8th) Many students have already turned it in and their grades have been posted. There is on daily work assignment due on Friday as well (20%). If the students have already completed the postcard, then they will only have the one assignment for the week.

I appreciate all the students who are doing their work. I know this is not an easy task for the students. If a student is having difficulty with anything, please have them contact me, and I will help them through the process. If students have any missing work they will have until May 21st to turn it in with no penalty.

I will have the entire weeks assignments posted on Friday by 3:00 pm. If you have any questions please do not hesitate to ask.

Stay Strong, Stay Healthy, Stay Positive

Food Prep Labs at Home

The final two weeks of distance learning for FACS all classes are participating in Understanding Recipes and how to use them. Students have been challenged with hard cooking eggs without turning the yolks green, which destroys the nutritional quality as well has the texture and flavor. In lab two the focus was on accurately measuring different types of ingredients, and understanding mixing terms. Last week we finished up with a Ramen Noodle challenge! Families were asked to think outside of the box and create a new dish from a package of Ramen. The emphasis of this labs was to broaden their the knowledge and taste palette to different herbs and spices as well as understand some ingredients can be substituted for in a recipe. Several students turned in excellent power point presentations of their work. I am very proud of those that continue to do their very best. Last weeks challenge winner was Connor Bradley 6th Grade FACS. Morgan Nabus 6th Grade is the weekly winner of most well designed power point and 7th grade Ronald Schnurr for plating and video execution.
